Counsellor in Brighton & Hove
Hi - I'm Rob. I'm an existential-humanistic therapist working with the gay, queer and LGBTQ+ communities.
I'm conscious of how daunting the idea of starting counselling can be. Meeting someone new and sharing our difficulties can seem like the last thing we want to do! But having a space to speak openly and process your experiences can make a real difference, and even be life changing.

About me
I'm a BACP registered therapist working privately in central Hove. I also work for a charity called Lifecentre with victims of sexual violence/abuse. I specialise in working with LGBTQ+ clients, but work with a range of people and issues including trauma/cPTSD, relationship problems, abuse, neurodiversity, ADHD, low self-esteem, and existential or spiritual crisis.
Previously, I was a consultant in business, but by my 30s, I needed a major change. I had a desire to help others, a curiosity about human nature, and a passion for learning about the psychology and science of healing. I trained at the University of Brighton, and I’m currently completing a masters in psychotherapy as further training.

"Finding your voice and speaking your truth is the single most powerful thing you can and will ever do. It took me over 35 years to find mine and Rob finally gave me the trusted safe space to do that"

"I reached out to Rob because I was having some difficulties with work, and was getting close to quitting my job. I was quite nervous to try online therapy and wasn't even sure that talking about my problems would really help, but Rob was fantastic! He is really easy to talk to, calm, a great listener, and he made me feel completely at ease. Although I was the one talking most of the time, explaining and exploring my thoughts, Rob would ask questions or reformulate something I had said in a way that nudged me in the right direction, and I'd suddenly realise how one problem was connected to something else I'd talked about.
Knowing that I was going to speak with him each week was a comfort during the most stressful times, which alone would have been good value for me. But, more than that, I feel I've made real progress, and I've finished with a completely different mood and attitude than when I started. I'd highly recommend!"

“When I was referred to see Rob I was very scared… of the process and what it would do to me. My worries were entirely unnecessary.
Rob is kind, empathetic and made me feel comfortable and relevant. The sessions had a core and clear intention, but were also organic.
He made me realise I did deserve to be helped and help me he did. I cannot recommend him highly enough.”
